Fiberglass, wood and other materials contained in the blades are insulated and crushed, then shipped to cement manufacturing kilns replacing traditional fuels such as coal and helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions up to ‘to 27%. This is the second grand prize won by the project since its launch.
âWe are extremely happy and proud to be recognized with this award, which is the result of the hard work and dedication of our team,â said Bob Cappadona, VNA’s Executive Vice President and COO for the Waste Management Division. of the company.
- VNA was also honored for a comprehensive and highly successful energy efficiency project carried out by Enovity, VNA’s energy services company based in California. As a result of these improvements, the hospital reduced its total electricity consumption by more than 10%, resulting in annual savings of over $ 600,000 while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 1,350 metric tonnes.
