Sysco Joins USDA and EPA List of Food Losses and Losses in the United States

HOUSTON, Feb. 14 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY), the world’s leading foodservice retailer, has been added to the list of 2030 U.S. Food Loss and Waste Champions by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The US Food Loss and Waste 2030 Champions are companies and organizations that have publicly committed to reducing food loss and waste by 50% by 2030 in their own operations in the United States.

Sysco has committed to diverting 90% of operations and food waste from landfills as part of the company’s 2025 corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals. This will be achieved through meal donations and the contribution of food waste to animal feed and composting efforts.
