Orleans provides update on wastewater treatment infrastructure project


ORLEANS – The City of Orleans recently released an update informing city residents of construction projects related to the Orleans Wastewater Infrastructure Project during the two-week period that began on September 27 2021.

During this period, construction crews and detours are expected to be at 29 Overland Way and 32 Lots Hollow Road to perform Contract # 2019-01 – Downtown Wastewater Treatment and Effluent Disposal Facility , Daniel O’Connell’s Sons, Inc.

Residents are advised to expect construction traffic and equipment movement when performing work such as installing rebar, installing concrete masonry unit walls, and plumbing.

Construction crews and traffic delays / diversions are also expected at sites along Rt. 6A between Stop & Shop and Route 6 Rotary, Snow Library, Old Colony Way, West Road and other traffic routes. circulation pursuant to contract n ° 2019-02 – Downtown Area Collection System and Pumping Stations, Robert B, Our Co., Inc.

Traffic delays and detours associated with Contract # 2019-02 during this period are expected to occur on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Route 6A will be closed to through traffic in affected areas during this time, but access will be allowed to residents and local businesses.

Contract # 2019-02 has already started full-width milling and paving in several areas and is expected to close by October 30, 2021.
