SRINAGAR: The Department of Water Management and Department of Environmental Sciences, SP College, Srinagar, in collaboration with JJT University, Rajasthan, with an associated partnership from All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi , organized a one-day national conference on the theme “Environment and Water Resources Management: Challenges and Solutions”, here.
The chief guest on the occasion was Vice Chancellor Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Qayyum Hussain and the guest of honor was President JJT University Rajasthan Dr. Vinod Tibrewala.
The Principal of SP College, Srinagar, Professor (Dr) Khurshid Ahmad Khan who was the patron of the conference, in his online welcome speech, welcomed all dignitaries, delegates and participants and encouraged all students and teachers to participate more and more. in such conferences for academic and research excellence.
Cluster University Srinagar Vice Chancellor said the theme of the conference is one of the top priorities of the current times and it is incumbent on researchers around the world to find solutions to the problems of environmental pollution.
The President of JJT University of Rajasthan said that the theme of the conference is very close to his heart and said that today it is a high priority for governments and the scientific community to ensure pollution-free water supply to each household.
The keynote address on the occasion was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) S. Mufeed Ahmad (Department of Management Studies, University of Kashmir, Srinagar) who emphasized that it is the responsibility of everyone to fulfill its duty to protect the environment.
The guest lecture on this occasion was given by Anshuman (Associate Director of Water Management Division, TERI New Delhi) who gave a detailed lecture on the different methods and techniques of water resource management and quoted many case studies.
Lectures were also given by MG Shirahatti, Dr Madhu Gupta and Dr Anita Kumar.
The conference received a very good response from researchers across the country and up to 150 full research papers and 260 research paper abstracts were received.
An electronic keepsake has been released on occasion to save paper. Select research presentations in separate technical sessions using offline and online platforms.
Professor Bashir Ahmad Mir (Dean Academics SP College, Srinagar) supervised the proceedings of the entire conference. The conference report was presented by Dr. Qazi Ashiq Hussain.
In an impressive farewell function, the best research paper presentations and organizing committee members from SP College, Srinagar and JJT University, Rajasthan were congratulated by the Vice Chancellor of the Cluster University Srinagar.
