The Crystal Lake Police Department and Crystal Lake Fire Department responded at around 1:40 p.m. Sunday at Waste Management, 1400 South Virginia Road.

The sedan then rolled off the roadway to the west and caught fire, witnesses said.

The driver and a passenger were able to get out of the car before the fire brigade arrived. One of the victims appears to have suffered a head injury, a witness said.

Paramedics assessed the two victims and refused transport to hospital.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire from the vehicle. It is not known what caused the accident or if the driver was cited by the police.
