DEDICATION: The Hartford Township Park Committee will host a dedication ceremony for the new community pavilion at 2 p.m. on October 3 in Township Square on State Highways 7 and 305. Hartford Academy which was held on the grounds, was funded through a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and donations from the community. There will be a short ceremony and a ribbon cutting. Refreshments will follow.
OBJECT SEARCH: The Howland Historical Society is seeking public input to locate items dating from July 1976, when the township participated in the American Bicentennial. A local committee filmed the events. In the 1980s, the Howland Park Council organized the community to build the original town of Tiger on the west side of Howland Township Park. The company searches for all available photos or films for display at the Brown Mackey House Museum, which is open on the third Sunday of each month. 4-H EVENT: The Four Seasons 4-H Club of Trumbull County will be hosting an open house at the Hubbard Farmers Market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today by the fire department. The group will be collecting napkins for Angels for Animals and also having a bake sale. The group meets on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. from October to June at the Hubbard Public Library.
BIG INJURY EXERCISE: The Eagle Joint Fire District will be hosting a live practice from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Harding Park in Hubbard. The event is organized in conjunction with the Trumbull County HazMat team, Lane LifeTrans, Brookfield Fire Department, Youngstown State University, Kent State University at Trumbull, students and professors of nursing at Mercy College.
LYRIC: The Liberty Youth Recreation and Impact Center (LYRIC) is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday at the Old Liberty High School, 317 Churchill Hubbard Road. You can enjoy indoor pÃ©tanque, pickleball, cornhole and games. Bingo is at 1 p.m. and yoga is at 6.30 p.m.

COLLECTION PACKAGE: The Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District, 5138 Enterprise Blvd., Warren, will be offering a Household Hazardous Waste Collection from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Household hazardous waste, appliances and electronic devices will be accepted. The event is aimed at residents of Geauga and Trumbull counties. WOODCARVERS: Mosquito Creek Woodcarvers welcomes new members. Mosquito Creek woodcarvers have moved to the Johnston Senior Center where woodcarving, woodcutting, carving and decorating will take place. There is no cost to join and no tools or experience is required. Gatherings are from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays.
